Sandy passes 350 miles on her walk for PSP
June 28, 2009
Wheeling, WV - The 700-mile walk home is at its halfway point.
Sandy McWilliams has walked through Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia on her way to Pennsville, N.J., to raise awareness for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a rare brain disease which afflicts her mother.
The Louisville, Ky., speech pathologist plans to cross Pennsylvania on U.S. 40 and on the Great Allegheny Passage -- a trail built on a former railway. She will walk through Maryland, stopping at the national organization, Cure PSP+, and then on through Delaware and finally, across the river to the town where she was raised - Pennsville, N.J.
If others would like to walk with her, whether for a symbolic distance or something a little more strenuous, contact her on the form on this website.
Go to www.curepsp.org for more information about PSP and how you can help.
